ramblin' y'all

i'm dogsitting for the gr9999est bulldog ever. most of you ppl who know me in REAL LIFE~~ already know that i LOVE BULLDOGS so much. we are going to hang out all night and watch dawson's creek and read stories 2gether~

i had big major plans to link to a free album download from steel train, sort of a contest bc embedding it oN mY bLoG automatically would have (WOULD HAVE) entered me in the contest to get some rare traxx and there's nothing i love more than winning and rare songs. WOULD HAVE. PAST TENSE. i missed the cut-off date because i don't have any internet access and always kept forgetting. i thought maybe just maybe if i had won, it would have made up for that time i lost america's next top model or that other time when i didn't get a pink ribbon on danceline, but alas. now i can't even find the download link. even though i'm pretty sure it was supposed to be available through june and it still technically is june...
also yesterday i was wearing my steel train shirt and was taking a walk to get some grilled fruit from whole foods because i mean what else would i be doing and it was cold so i put on my steel train sweatshirt without even doing it on purpose! wearing two steel train things at once 4evrr 2k11~*~*
LISTEN. i'm rambling and all of that is beside the point. if anyone wants me to burn them a copy of "STEEL TRAINS GR8EST HITS OF ALL TIME" (which i made up as an itunes playlist) to make up for the lack of a free download link, then i will.

if y'all were wondering how many specialty cupcake places i went to today, it was two. first i got german chocolate~*~*~* and then i got smores. just tryin to enjoy my time left on this earth y'all, nbd.

it is indeed the last day of june. i have exactly 5 hours and 23 minutes to decide what my goals for july are. i've extended drawing everything i buy and writing down my dreams to be goals for the entire summer. right now i'm really leaning towards No Complaining July. it'd be so rad if i could be vegan for an entire month but that might require some extra planning ahead.

since i was off work today i did some unnecessary shopping. the beverly center is a good place to go if a) want to go to the most gigantic forever 21, b) want some jeffrey campbell shoes bc you like owning shoes that are out of your price range, or c) want to pass by some semi-famous people going the opposite way on the escalator.
did y'all know forever 21 had maternity clothes?? i didn't until i bought a dress and got home and looked at the tag which said "love maternity"

ANYWAY, keeping things relevant.
here are just a few things you can do if you want to feel like you fit in in los angeleeez calipornia:
1. wear workout clothes everywhere you go
2. honk your horn randomly while driving. no polite, informative honking, only prolonged rude honks allowed.
3. get collagen injected in your lips
4. get a very tiny dog and shove it in your purse and carry it everywhere with you
i don't do any of these things
such an outcast
DANGIT

LIKE

listen i was just eating dinner in silverlake and i sat by this guy who is a paparazzoo~* and just got paid $1000 for a picture of zac efron nbd. ~*~eavesdropping
also this other guy sat at the same table as me because i guess there were no other seats but it was awkward so i just drew in my notebook in between self-consciously taking bites.

now i'm at intelligentsia which is the raddest hippest place around.

if you guys were wondering how my june goals are going,
i've drawn every single thing i've purchased
written down every dream i can remember
and exercised like, twice.
(cue meatloaf...)

NOW

OMG Y'ALL~*~

the chronicles of the steel train show~*~
here is my tuesday, arranged in a simple bulleted list for your reading pleasure:

  • got to ventura at 4:30, 3.5 hours early as expected. however i DIDN'T expect to be the 50th person in line
  • got in line next to some teenage scene kids straight out of 2005, conversing about crowd-surfing during [insert hot topic t-shirt band here]'s set at warped tour
  • acted like i knew who never shout never was...
  • went inside around 6:45, stood behind the tallest guy in the world probably, i don't know maybe he has his own show on tlc or something, and next to a lot of people wearing jack's mannequin shirts (jack's mannequin was the headlining band).... for the record, i vote a big THUMBS DOWN on wearing the band's shirt to the show. (please reference my post about other show etiquette here)
  • pushed my way to the front a little, just so i could see past the giant in front of me
  • didn't feel bad about it because the girl beside me was searching for "steel trade" on her phone
  • surely impressed all members of steel train by being the only person in the front who knew all the words
  • got crushed against the railing as soon as steel train left the stage
  • thought "f this shit man" and squeezed my way out, deciding that seeing a band i loved when i was 18 but now don't care much about wasn't worth my life or consciousness
  • sat on the steps by the merch tables, got approached by a guy who raised his eyebrows a lot
  • immediately ignored eyebrow guy when jack came to the merch table OMG
  • in a semi-awkward state, delivered a list of reasons why i think he's so great to THE jack antonoff himself, in less than a conversational manner than i had practiced in my head
  • met the bass player evan, found out we're practically neighbors, and met another super fan such as myself named laura, found out we both work at starfucks
  • decided we should all hang out since we were becoming best budz
  • went backstage and ate cocoa puffs, talked about life, met the other members of steel train
  • died a little
  • .....
  • ....
  • ..

+ an oldie of jack aka god:
i took new pictures duh but i need to find a place to develop my film for less than $20

lizzie's guide to living on your own

STEP TWO:

when walking to your apartment after dark because you were forced to park 15 blocks away* due to all the spots on your street being taken by everyone in LA with an average of 7 cars per person**, always carry your keys in the manner i like to call "the wolverine" or "the esther" (named for my cat with especially sharp claws shaped like tiny hooks), just like this, with your keys pointing outward:
it's a convenient self-defense mechanism in case you might need to slash someone's face.
BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY Y'ALL.
+++bonus time-saver! carrying your keys in this beneficial manner also prevents you from losing them in the depths of your purse~~

.............................................

tomorrow i'm driving to ventura to see steel train, and i'm going to get there 3.5 hours early but i don't even care because i'll probably just sit outside and finish reading the stranger aka l'etranger and become a philosophical genius, and then during the show i'll stand in the front row and spend the entire time singing and dancing, regardless of whether or not i still have a horrible debilitating cold.
maybe they'll even play touch me bad and maybe THIS will happen again>>>>>>>
luv u 4evrr jack antonoff xoxoxoxoxo

*actual distance is 2 blocks
**actual statistic is 1.8 cars per person
